20ft Shipping Containers - Used
Our FG container is the highest grade of used container we offer which provides our clients high security and guaranteed dry storage at a great price. These containers can be anywhere from 10-15 years old, and will be ex-shipping containers, so you can expect some surface rust as perfectly normal for a container made with Corten steel, as well as dents and scrapes from being handled at various depots over the years.
To improve the overall appearance, we would recommend opting to have the exterior your FG container repainted in rubberised marine paint, particularly in a dark colour, which better hides any blemishes, and also an interior respray to improve the inside appearance of the unit. If budget allows, in order to best protect your furniture from the damaging effects of condensation, we highly recommend opting for ply lining for all FG Containers.
Our FG shipping containers (the FG stands for furniture grade!) are constructed from "grade A" 40ft shipping containers which are typically 10 to 15 years old. We take a good standard 40ft container & make two 20ft units. This process of conversion enables clients to choose the type of doors most suitable for purpose.
All styles have the advantage of being built from corten steel which includes rust inhibitors and have heavy duty weight bearing floors.
Please note cut down containers are not suitable for shipping, stacking or lifting when loaded. They can be modified upon request if these conditions are required.
S1 containers have flat panelled doors which are much easier to open and close and are more aesthetically pleasing. They are often the preferred choice of schools, clubs and for use as garden sheds and personal storage.

We can add a compressed door seal to S1 containers for a cost of £65 plus VAT
S2 containers are most popular on building sites and have the advantage of rubber door seals to seal the unit. The disadvantage is that you often have to be a burly builder to open and close them!

Anti vandal, galvanised steel roller shutter doors, with manual or electrical operation. At 8ft wide (the same size as standard container doors, they be fitted as an additional door, or a replacement for the original.

These are steel personnel doors, suitable for frequent pedestrian use in out of the container, incorporating multi deadlocks and offering high levels of security. Personnel doors are the preferred door type for our portable site office units, and other conversions, such as offices, classrooms, workshops and equipment stores.
Price per personnel door - £565 plus VAT
All doors on our 20ft FG containers are fitted with a lockbox, at no extra cost. The lockbox fits snugly around the container lock to prevent unauthorised access.
Add one of our specialist Lock 2000 padlocks, compatible for use with the lock box, for a discounted price of £35 plus VAT
Cost to repaint 20ft container - £190 plus VAT
Please note for very light or bright paint options (e.g. white, yellow, red, orange) there is a supplementary charge of 75% over standard repainting rates
An option for S1 doors - these are attached to the inside of the container door and compress to form a watertight seal when the door is closed.

An interior repaint can instantly improve the appearance of used containers.
Cost - £190 plus VAT
A ply lining combined with rockwool insulation will keep the container at a constant temperature and provide the most resistant measure against condensation.

We are lucky to have manufacturing facilities on site and have designed and manufactured a door which is both easy to use and is superior in quality. Although the appearance of S3 doors may differ slightly from container to container, they all share these characteristics:- New/once-used
- External rubber door seals
- Waist high handles
- Two locking arms on the right hand door only
- Shoot bolts on the left hand door
