This conversion has been adapted to carry and store a grout pump, which is used to seal gas pipes. The pump must be kept secure and in good condition, therefore a shipping container with ply lining has been chosen for its strength, security and dryness.

Special features

  •     Original ISO doors with lock box

  •     9mm redwood lining and rockwool insulation

  •     4 anchoring points

  •     Repainting in blue

The steel work

The first step is to cut the container down to the required 12ft length. This step is completed with the addition of a new end wall to make the container whole again. The original ISO doors are being retained at the other end of the container, so all we need to do here is attach a lockbox, for additional security.

Ply lining and insulation

The container is insulated with rockwool, which is packed into a timber framework constructed to fit the container, over which we attach 9mm thick ply boards with a redwood finish. Lining and insulation keeps the container free from condensation. For more information on lining containers, read our article Ply Lined Containers

After lining, we fitted four anchoring points to the floor of the container, one in each corner, to secure the pump in transit.

Repainting

The container is finished off with a repaint in Traffic Blue.
